10 Reasons To Register With Us
We have depth of knowledge. We know the industry; between us, we have over 100 years’ experience in the industry and we have long-standing relationships with our clients.
We can build these relationships because we have continuity. We have a team that has stayed together for years. The education division of Athona Recruitment has been around since 2007 – and most of the original team is still here.
We provide an individual service. We specialise in local areas and put the effort into building close relationships with schools. You get a personal approach with us – everyone knows everyone else’s name.
We create a community for supply teachers. We often have networking events and candidates tell us they love getting together to support each other. They can swap examples of how they’ve been doing, answer problems for each other, or share the good experiences they’ve had. We do it just to say thank you. There’s no agenda. Bring a friend and have a drink!
We do everything. We deal with supply, long-term and permanent – not every agency does that. What’s more, having that rounded knowledge means that if someone comes to us and wants a permanent job, but the right fit isn’t available, we can offer creative solutions. We might suggest they try a role in supply, then go into a contract, then into permanent. Simply put, we can help people who don’t even know they can be helped.
We listen to you. Applicants differ. Some might have a real passion for their subject. Others will have a passion for changing lives and influencing a child’s personal development. If we really get to know and understand our candidates, everyone gets the service they need.
We know how to get the best out of our candidates. We understand that the interview is not the full picture; it doesn’t always demonstrate who is outstanding in the classroom. Putting these candidates into a contract environment, allows them to prove themselves.
We go above & beyond the call of duty. Here’s just one example. A recruitment consultant was phoned at 5pm by a head teacher wanting a choice of A* candidates to start work the next day. She found two within the hour and was thoroughly quizzed on each applicant. The phone calls went backwards and forwards, and the candidate was eventually confirmed at 10 past midnight. The candidate started the next day and is still there now.
We provide training. Supply teachers aren’t usually included in schools’ training budgets. The environment changes all the time, so up-to-date training on major issues like safeguarding and behaviour management, for example, is vital. We provide a fund for training and are continually adding to our online training portfolio.
We know recruitment. We know the questions to ask. We know how to work with an individual. We provide great service. That’s it.
