That’s why we’ve formed a dedicated team to support registered mental health nurses (RMNs) with finding ad-hoc shifts, contract or permanent positions across the UK. Our experienced mental health nursing team have extensive knowledge of the healthcare market and therefore understand how important and demanding the role of an RMN is.

Mental health nurses play a vital role in both hospital and community settings and as such, Athona has a number of vacancies available for A&E, crisis teams, psychiatric wards, CAMHS, community psychiatric nurses (CPN), outpatient units, GP surgeries, prisons and residential settings.

Responsibilities for RMNs include:

  • Supporting and assessing patients
  • Building patient relationships
  • Providing physical care to patients
  • Administering medication
  • Prepare patient records and produce individual care plans.

Responsibilities for community psychiatric nurses include:

  • Supporting and managing a caseload of patients
  • Providing support and treatment in the community
  • Care-coordinating (on occasion)
  • Essential you are a car driver (not always, but more often than not).
