Despite initial reports that Jeremy Hunt had been sacked as part of Theresa May’s cabinet reshuffle, it has now been confirmed he will keep his current job as Health Secretary.

Mr Hunt posted on Twitter after his visit to Downing Street and confirmed his position “’Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated…’ Thrilled to be back in the best job in Government.”

His message sparked anger from Twitter users, with many junior doctors being outraged that May did not hire a replacement.

There’s still no answers as to the reasons Hunt was kept on, there have been five strikes this year following contract negotiations. A recent ballot was rejected by 58% of junior doctor and medical student members, despite the British Medical Associate urging them to accept.
