Job title: Staff Nurse, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory
Location: Gibraltar
Contract: 2 year fixed contract
Salary – up to £38229 – Travel reimbursements and £1200 monthly rental allowance
Job Purpose:
To deliver nursing care for patients within the cardiac catheter laboratory and all of the acute cardiac care areas, providing the prescribed nursing care without supervision. Contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing practice in the acute cardiac areas
To undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as requested by GHA Management.
Duties include:
Manage and provide all aspects of patient care, maintaining Privacy and dignity of all patients whilst Adhering to trust and department policies.
Assist other nurses in the team as necessary.
Work within designated role as scrub/circulating nurse for invasive angiography/angioplasty and participate in the out of hours on primary percutaneous intervention on call rota.
Assist with pacing and transoesophageal echocardiography lists.
Assist the cardiology team in identifying inpatients who may benefit from coronary angiography.
Assisting within the outpatient cardiac team including cardiac rehabilitation.
Demonstrate practice based on current advances in nursing practice and research.
Develop and establish evidence-based practice that contributes to the development and evaluation of nursing procedures in the unit.
To be considered for this post applicants will need:
- Full NMC registration – with at least 2 years experience
- Experience in managing patients in an acute medical setting
- Minimum of two year’s experience working in a Catheterisation Laboratory
- Good communication skills and team work
- Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
- Enhanced DBS
