Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to join our client in Dublin and lead a team of Nurses and HCA’s, playing an integral and active role in a committed MDT making a significant contribution in psychiatric nurse management

You will work for a specialised neuropsychiatric service for adults with severe mental health needs, including Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s diseases, which creates a therapeutic environment using evidence-based practices. It is a 123-bed service, supported by a 200-member MDT.

Salary: €57,198 – €67,621 (c£48,100 – £56,800)

Position: Clinical Nurse Manager 2

Hours: Permanent, Full Time (78hrs fortnightly)

Setting: Neuropsychiatric Hospital – Adults

Location: Dublin

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure nursing services meet national standards, delivering high-quality treatment and care while maintaining patient safety and compliance.
  • Lead operational change in nursing services, implementing best practices and regulatory standards for Health & Safety and Risk Management.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and staff to set goals and develop comprehensive care plans as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Align practices and policies with organisational strategic plans, ensuring all procedures adhere to service objectives and regulatory requirements.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

  • Registration as a Psychiatric Nurse (with An Bord Altranais/NMBI or eligibility to register).
  • A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years working as Clinical Nurse Manager 1.
  • Clinical experience in palliative care is desirable.
  • Requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of clinical, managerial, and administrative competencies.
  • Experience in managing staff, budgets, and workforce planning including in-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Commission requirements, leadership, and governance.
  • Clinical experience in working within a team of clinicians and knowledge of the concepts and operations of Clinical Governance as well as ability to lead, teach, manage, participate, in the practice education of students and registered nurses
