Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and qualified Consultant Psychologist in neurorehabilitation to join our client and help change the lives of people living with acquired brain injury (ABI).

We are looking for a Consultant Psychologist who wants to develop their experience by working in our highly regarded service at; providing strategic, professional leadership to the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation team.

Salary: Up to £71,900 DOE + £6000 welcome bonus!

Position: Consultant Clinical Psychologist

Hours: Part Time – 28hrs

Setting: Neuro – Acquired Brain Injury

Location: Birmingham

Your responsibilities will include

  • To provide strategic professional and clinical leadership to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust through the Clinical Executive.
  • To provide professional and clinical leadership within the service and across the region, ensuring the planning and development of a systematic response to service need, interpreting professional policies and ensuring that the service operates at the highest level of quality and current best practice, with research and development a major responsibility and taking a major role in the development and implementation of policy for the service as a whole.
  • To provide clinical services at a high level of expertise, supporting and advising colleagues on all issues concerned with neuropsychological clinical practice and providing expert clinical consultation and professional guidance to clinical neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists and other clinicians within BIRT.
  • To provide clinical leadership and direction for the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust service across the relevant region, including the clinical leadership of the multidisciplinary team and support worker staff within the service and other related BIRT services in the region

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate verbally and in writing highly complex and sensitive information in a manner appropriate to a range of settings and audiences, including complex highly emotive situations and those with significantly impaired communication capacities.
  • Ability to analyse and manage complex multi-factorial information from a range of sources both clinical and organisational, integrate and formulate it from a variety of psychological perspectives and make an expert professional judgement about appropriate options for action in a public service context.
  • Sound skills in the management of specialist professional staff, of the day to day management of clinical services and of financial resources.
  • Knowledge of legislation and its implication for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to the service user group – including but not limited to, the mental health act and relevant legislation.
  • Experience of working as a consultant or extensive experience working as a Principal Clinical Psychologist in a relevant setting.
