We have an excellent permanent job opportunity for an Adult Learning Disabilities Consultant to work for a private inpatient service based in the East of England. This is a full-time role in which the postholder will provide psychiatric care to a maximum 20 learning disability patients.

The postholder will join an experienced and well-established MDT, who are highly committed to the service and strive for excellence in clinical care for this vulnerable patient group. The hospital is well regarded by external stakeholders, who consistently praise the team for their patient centred approach and commitment to patient care.

The role as a responsible clinician will be closely supported by the senior management team on site, enabling the postholder to provide the highest standard of clinical care to your patients. Dedicated administrative support is provided, and some remote or flexible working will be considered.

Salary: up to £160,000 per annum

Position: Adult Learning Disabilities Consultant

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week

Setting: Low secure male ward

Location: East of England

For this role, we’re looking for someone who is:

  • Hold a CCT or CESR
  • Have approved clinician status
  • Experience in psychiatry of learning disability.
  • Show respect and compassion towards patients and families, as well as towards your colleagues.
  • Have leadership qualities to inspire and influence the MDT and set the direction for a positive culture in the service.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of restrictive practice and an ability to take positive risks within a supportive, team-based environment.
  • Be committed to supporting patients in their recovery and to live their lives to reach their full potential
  • Participation in 2nd on call rota (non-residential with low contact rate)
