Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a speech and language therapist to join our client, a special school catering for boys from age six to twelve with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), including those with Asperger’s Syndrome and those with a diagnosis of ADHD
Salary: Up to £50,122 Pro Rata (Actual Up to £45,947)
Position: Speech & Language Therapist
Hours: Full Time – Term Time Only
Setting: Specialist School
Location: West Sussex
You will co-ordinate and deliver Speech and Language Therapy across the curriculum using the wave provision of universal, targeted and specialist levels within a multi-disciplinary blended approach to improve outcomes for pupils.
Your responsibilities will include
- Coordinate and deliver Speech and Language Therapy across the waking day curriculum using universal, targeted, and specialist levels to improve pupil outcomes.
- Manage and prioritize a complex, specialist caseload, implementing evidence-based treatment plans and assessments tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure pupils’ access to the full curriculum, support holistic development, and address communication difficulties.
- Lead in sharing specialist knowledge with staff and parents, contribute to school development, and engage in clinical audits and ongoing professional development.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
- Professionally registered with HCPC
- At least five years post registration experience with least three years in a Paediatric Therapy discipline.
- Clinical experience including individual and group work
- Understanding of wide range of speech, language and communication disabilities associated with BESD and autism and their impact on learning
