Athona Education is working with a great school in Camden, North London to help them secure a Year 4 teacher to join the team for September.

This is a very good school with a brilliant team on-board.

The school:

This is a three form entry Church of England school, located close to public transport on the Northern Line and also with staff parking.

The school is larger than most, with three classes per year group and they have a dynamic Headteacher who is determined to make the school the best in the area. Each key stage has a leader to assist staff and there is then a leader in each year group, who teaches.

Whilst this is a Church of England school, applicants from all faiths are welcome.

This is a lovely school!

The Role:

The school is seeking a Year 4 teacher to join the team for September. You will be joining a team with one experienced teacher and one teacher who is newly qualified (NQT). The year groups plan together each week to share ideas and activities and PPA time is provided by the school to enable this.

You will have the full remit of a full time member of staff and will be planning and delivering lessons, marking etc. You will be required to attend parent consultation evenings, which the school will pay for.

The class are generally well behaved and are enthusiastic and respond positively to being challenged academically and a creative teacher who can present exciting lessons would be ideal. There are a few children with SEND(behaviour) who have a Teaching Assistant who works with them in the class.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this Year 4 teacher role will be creative, enthusiastic and able to engage with children. You will ideally be experienced(although the school will consider outstanding NQTs) and able to work well as a team, especially with planning. The school would welcome a teacher who has led IT in a school, although this is not essential.

You should have a firm commitment to raising standards and a caring, calm demeanour.

You must also have an excellent level of spoken and written English, as there are some children in the class who are new to English.

When you apply with Athona you get:

  • Professional support from our team of experienced consultants
  • Opportunities for career progression
  • Access to vacancies at some of the best schools in London
  • Ongoing career advice from a dedicated consultant
