Lovely school in North West London has a vacancy for a SEND Teaching Assistant to start later this month.
This is a 2 form entry primary school in a lovely area of North London. They have a good reputation locally and standards at the school are very high. There is a lovely atmosphere throughout the school with a great team on board, with a professional, dedicated Headteacher driving things forward.
The school is expecting a child with un-specified special needs, to start at some point in September. It is suspected that the child has Autism, although he is awaiting full diagnosis. This is a 1:1 position and you will be the main assistant to work with this particular child. Time will be spent in class with the child and also in a resource base, working on speech and language and skills to help with socialisation, speech and language skills etc.
The school will be seeking a SEND assistant with experience in a primary school and especially experience of working with pupils with Autism. You will need to be patient, dedicated and enthusiastic, with outstanding communication skills. You will be working under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCO and whilst you will be working closely with the team, there will be occasions when you will be on your own with the child, so self-motivation is required for this role.
Very good spoken and written language skills are required for this role.
This will be a very interesting and rewarding role in a great school.
