Primary Music Teacher, September start, part-time
Athona Education is working with a school in North London, which is seeking a part-time Music teacher to start in September.
This is a lovely music teaching opportunity and a chance to take on a role and make it your own and to join a successful team in a great school.
This is a three-form entry school in North West London, located in a residential area and well-served by public transport. The school is led by a dedicated Headteacher who has been at the school for many years. She has a strong senior leadership team to support her with her aim to raise what are already very high standards.
Behaviour at the school is good, with a lot of support from home and the school has a traditional, creative atmosphere. The school has a large playground and playing field. Educational standards at the school are very high.
You will be joining a dedicated teaching team at the school and will become an integral member of the school community.
The school is seeking a Music teacher on a part-time basis of 3 days per week, Tuesday – Thursday, which will be ideal if you have additional commitments outside of school. Extra days as a mainstream teacher may be available on an ad hoc basis.
You will be responsible for Music throughout the school and will be working with KS2 classes, teaching and practicing songs, percussion, and teaching some musical theory. You will be responsible for leading whole-school singing in assembly, as well as coordinating the Year 6 end-of-year production. The school has good musical resources, including a full set of African drums and a full set of ukuleles for a class of 30 – get practicing!
A pianist would be very welcome!
Schemes of work are in place, which you will be able to adapt and you will be responsible for making sure the Music curriculum is kept exciting and relevant.
Please note that you will be the sole Music teacher at the school, so will need to be able to work independently.
