Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity to lead and develop a new private CAMHS inpatient service, shaping care delivery and clinical standards within a growing mental health setting.

Salary: £180,880
Position: Consultant CAMHS Psychiatrist
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Private inpatient mental health hospital
Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Lead development and delivery of new CAMHS inpatient service
  • Act as Responsible Clinician overseeing patient care and treatment planning
  • Assess and manage complex CAMHS cases across inpatient settings
  • Chair MDT and CPA meetings, ensuring collaborative care planning
  • Provide clinical leadership alongside Ward Manager and multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and clinical governance frameworks
  • Contribute to service development, audit, teaching, and research activities

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • Full GMC registration with Specialist Register inclusion
  • Approved Clinician status & S12 desired
  • Significant CAMHS inpatient or community experience
  • Previous substantive Consultant-level experience
  • Understanding of MHA, MCA, and clinical governance frameworks
