Job description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist Tier 4 inpatient service providing intensive psychiatric support for young people requiring complex mental health stabilisation within a secure environment.
Combining direct clinical responsibilities with strategic leadership duties, this unique dual-role offers the opportunity to influence safeguarding practice and clinical standards across a wider group of CAMHS services while maintaining an active clinical caseload within a specialist inpatient setting.
Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care, driving service improvements and embedding best practice in safeguarding and clinical governance.
Salary: Up to £180,000 per annum
Position: CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist & Group CAMHS Clinical and Safeguarding Lead
Hours: Full Time
Setting: Tier 4 CAMHS PICU, Acute and Low Secure Services
Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Your key responsibilities will be;
- Act as Responsible Clinician for a specialist CAMHS inpatient ward.
- Lead diagnostic assessments and treatment planning processes.
- Provide strategic safeguarding leadership across CAMHS services.
- Chair CPA reviews and Mental Health Act processes.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering complex inpatient care.
- Oversee safeguarding audits and clinical governance activities.
- Support compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
- MRCPsych qualification or recognised equivalent.
- GMC Specialist Register entry with licence to practise.
- Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.
- Extensive experience in inpatient CAMHS services.
- Strong safeguarding leadership and risk management expertise.
