Locum Registered Nurse – Cath Lab

Currently, we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Locum Registered Nurse – Cath Lab to join a specialist cardiac healthcare service in Gibraltar.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Cardiac Nurse with previous Cath Lab experience to further develop their clinical expertise within a specialist environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting cardiac procedures, delivering high-quality patient care and providing clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team.

This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain international experience whilst contributing to the delivery of excellent cardiac services.

Salary: £31,897 – £42,147 per annum (dependent on reckonable NHS service)

Position: Locum Registered Nurse – Cath Lab

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, including on-call arrangements

Contract: As soon as possible – 31 August 2027

Setting: Specialist Cardiac Services / Catheterisation Laboratory

Location: Gibraltar

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Provide specialist nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation procedures.
• Undertake scrub and circulating duties during cardiac interventions.
• Monitor patients before, during and following cardiac procedures.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to ECG changes and cardiac arrhythmias.
• Administer medications and support the management of conscious sedation.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision and mentorship to nursing colleagues.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, documentation and clinical practice.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

• Current NMC registration with a valid PIN and minimum three years’ post-registration experience.
• At least two years’ experience working within a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory.
• Experience in pacing implants, with strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
• Current ILS certification, with ALS desirable, and evidence of continuing professional development.
• Excellent clinical leadership, ECG interpretation, communication and mentorship skills.
