Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to work within our NHS client’s Local Primary Mental Health Support Services.
This is a full-time, short-term locum opportunity for a clinician with experience undertaking mental health assessments, many of which may be conducted via video or telephone.
The successful candidate will be required to attend the service location for induction during the first week. Depending on their experience, attendance on site may then be required for approximately one day per week, with the potential for remote working.
Job Role
Undertake mental health assessments for individuals accessing the service.
Conduct assessments via video or telephone where appropriate.
Support the identification of mental health needs and determine appropriate next steps.
Provide appropriate advice, support and onward referrals as required.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to support effective patient care.
Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional standards.
Attend on-site induction during the first week.
Attend the service location thereafter as required, potentially one day per week depending on experience.
Essential for the role
Relevant professional qualification and registration for the role.
Previous experience working as a Mental Health Practitioner.
Proven experience undertaking mental health assessments.
Confidence conducting assessments via telephone and video.
Strong communication and clinical assessment skills.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Good IT and record-keeping skills.
Availability for a full-time, short-term assignment.
Ability to attend on-site induction during the first week and further on-site days as required.
