Job Overview
Athona Nursing is currently recruiting for a Band 6 Orthopaedic Theatre Nurse to join the Theatre Department at Essex NHS Hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Orthopaedic Theatre Nurse seeking a block booking with a mixture of shifts in a hospital theatre environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide safe, high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative journey.
Support orthopaedic surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons and the wider theatre team.
Prepare and check specialist orthopaedic instruments, equipment and surgical supplies.
Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection prevention and control standards.
Ensure patient safety, correct positioning and adherence to theatre protocols.
Support patient care during surgical procedures in line with clinical competencies.
Provide clinical leadership and guidance to junior staff where required.
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
Relevant orthopaedic theatre experience.
Experience supporting orthopaedic surgical procedures.
Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and patient safety.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary theatre team.
Flexibility to work a mixture of shifts.
