Band 6 Scrub Nurse – Emergency Obstetrics & CEPOD
Location: Homerton, East London

Position: Band 6 Scrub Nurse
Booking Type: Block Booking / Ongoing Shifts
Shift Pattern: Night shifts, including weekends
Shift Times: 20:30 – 08:30
Duration: Initially 3 months, with the possibility of an extension until March 2027
Pay Rates
Inside IR35 – Full Gross Rates
Day: £30.00 per hour
Night / Saturday: £32.00 per hour
Sunday / Bank Holiday: £40.00 per hour
The Opportunity
Athona Nursing is currently recruiting experienced Band 6 Scrub Nurses to support the Theatre Department at NHS Acute Hospital Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Scrub Nurses who can commit to regular night shifts, with an initial booking period of three months and the potential for an extension until March 2027.
We are looking for candidates who can commit to 2–4 night shifts per week, with weekend availability also required.
Shift commitments will be reviewed on a monthly basis, providing an opportunity for ongoing work and continuity within the department.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
Current NMC registration.
Previous experience working as a Band 6 Scrub Nurse.
Proven experience in Emergency Obstetrics.
Previous experience in CEPOD (Confidential Enquiry into Perioperative Deaths) theatre cases.
Confidence working in a busy acute theatre environment.
Ability to commit to 2–4 night shifts per week.
Weekend availability.
Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
