Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Matron to provide proactive and visible clinical leadership across an acute hospital service in Cornwall.
You will lead on quality, safety and patient experience, supporting front-line clinical teams and working closely with senior nursing, clinical and operational colleagues to deliver service objectives and high-quality patient care.
Salary: £57,528 – £64,750
Position: Clinical Matron
Hours: Full-Time
Setting: Acute Hospital – Medicine / Surgery
Location: Truro, Cornwall
Your key responsibilities will be;
- Provide visible, accessible and authoritative leadership across areas of responsibility.
- Lead on quality, safety and patient experience across the specialty.
- Support Ward Sisters, Charge Nurses and clinical teams through effective leadership.
- Monitor clinical standards, risks, incidents, complaints and patient experience.
- Lead clinical quality improvement and ensure best practice standards are maintained.
- Oversee nursing staffing, deployment, performance and workforce development.
- Deputise for the Head of Nursing when appropriate.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
- Current NMC or HCPC registration with evidence of continuing professional development.
- Senior operational management experience within an acute hospital setting.
- Ward Sister, Charge Nurse or Team Lead experience.
- Experience leading change and delivering sustained service improvements.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making and multidisciplinary working skills.
