Currently, we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Medical Oncologist to join an established cancer service in Derby.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop specialist interests in Breast and Gynaecology Oncology, with flexibility to discuss other tumour sites depending on experience and service requirements.

The role provides cancer services across Southern Derbyshire and South East Staffordshire, with clinical work across two hospital sites. This is a substantive recruitment opportunity, with fixed-term arrangements also available.

Salary: £113,565-£150,569 per annum

Position: Consultant Medical Oncologist

Hours: Full-time, 10 programmed activities per week; less-than-full-time considered

Setting: NHS Acute Hospital / Secondary Care

Location: Derby, East Midlands, with work across Derby and Burton upon Trent

Contract: Substantive / Fixed-Term

Your key responsibilities will be;

• Deliver specialist medical oncology care across designated tumour sites.
• Develop specialist interests in Breast and Gynaecology Oncology.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and cancer treatment planning.
• Provide clinical services across two hospital sites.
• Support wider oncology services according to patient and service requirements.
• Participate in the consultant on-call arrangements.
• Contribute to teaching, service development and continuing professional development.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

• MRCP or equivalent qualification.
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for specialist registration.
• CCT, within six months of CCT, or GMC application in progress.
• Interest in Breast and Gynaecology Oncology with flexibility across tumour sites.
