Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Medical Lead / Consultant Neuropsychiatrist to join an established neurological and neurorehabilitation service. This unique role combines specialist clinical practice with strategic medical leadership, providing an opportunity to influence service development while continuing to make a direct impact on patient care.
You will provide expert neuropsychiatric assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for individuals with complex neurological and neurobehavioural needs, while working closely with senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality care.
Salary: Competitive annual salary + £5,000 car allowance

Your key responsibilities will be;
- Provide specialist neuropsychiatric assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for complex neurological presentations.
- Provide senior clinical leadership across neurological services and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Lead multidisciplinary discussions, risk management and individualised treatment planning.
- Ensure care complies with the Mental Health Act, NICE guidance and best practice.
- Support clinical governance, regulatory compliance, quality improvement and service development.
- Maintain strong relationships with patients, families, commissioners and external healthcare providers.
- Provide professional leadership, supervision and support to medical colleagues.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- MRCPsych or equivalent, with GMC Specialist Register inclusion or imminent CCT.
- Approved Clinician status under the Mental Health Act, or eligibility to obtain.
- Strong knowledge of neuropsychiatry, neurological psychopathology and evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Experience of clinical leadership, governance, risk management or service development.
- Desirable experience includes;
- Additional postgraduate qualifications such as an MSc, MD or PhD.
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Experience in quality improvement, clinical audit or service evaluation.
- Teaching, training and supervision experience across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience of change management and service improvement initiatives.
