Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Consultant Addictions Psychiatrist to join a specialist community substance misuse service supporting individuals with complex alcohol and drug dependencies, including those with co-occurring mental health needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical leadership within an established multidisciplinary team, delivering expert addiction psychiatry interventions while helping shape innovative and recovery-focused community services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in service development, clinical governance and improving outcomes for individuals affected by substance misuse across the local community.
Salary: £138,714.28 – £149,713.64 per annum DOE
Position: Consultant Addictions Psychiatrist
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Full Time
Setting: Community Substance Misuse and Addiction Services
Location: West Sussex, South East
Your key responsibilities will be;
- Provide clinical leadership within community addiction services.
- Deliver specialist psychiatric assessments and diagnostic formulations.
- Lead complex risk assessments and management plans.
- Oversee community detoxification and substitute prescribing pathways.
- Support multidisciplinary teams with clinical advice and supervision.
- Maintain high-quality clinical records and governance standards.
- Collaborate with external agencies and partner organisations.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
- Medical degree and MRCPsych qualification or equivalent.
- Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
- Specialist Register entry in relevant psychiatry specialty.
- Significant experience within addiction psychiatry services.
- Strong leadership and multidisciplinary working skills.
