Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist female acute mental health service, providing clinical leadership and high-quality psychiatric care within a well-established multidisciplinary team. You’ll work as the Responsible Clinician on a 14-bed acute ward for women experiencing severe mental illness, helping to deliver outstanding patient outcomes in a safe and therapeutic environment.

Salary: Up to £165,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire (S43)

Your key responsibilities will be;

• Lead high-quality psychiatric care across the acute inpatient ward.
• Act as Responsible Clinician for all ward inpatients.
• Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Lead ward rounds, clinical reviews and risk management.
• Prepare tribunal reports and attend Mental Health Act hearings.
• Support clinical governance, audits and service development.
• Participate in the Consultant on-call rota.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

• Full GMC registration and MBBS (or equivalent).
• Specialist Register (CCT/Portfolio Pathway), Section 12 and AC Status.
• Experience within General Adult Psychiatry.
• Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
• MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
