Job description 

Currently, we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist inpatient mental health service supporting adults with acute mental health needs in a safe and therapeutic environment.

Salary: £165,000 per annum

Position: Consultant Psychiatrist

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday

Setting: Specialist inpatient mental health service

Location: Willenhall, West Midlands

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Act as Responsible Clinician from patient admission through to discharge.
  • Provide consultant psychiatric leadership across two inpatient wards.
  • Provide clinical care for male and female adults aged 18 and over.
  • Lead and contribute to a skilled multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with acute mental health needs.
  • Support safe, effective and patient-centred care planning and treatment.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, service improvement and shared leadership.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • MRCPsych or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • CCT or equivalent and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience relevant to adult psychiatry.
  • Commitment to collaborative working, leadership and continuing professional development.
