Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established specialist mental health hospital providing therapeutic, recovery-focused treatment for adults with complex mental health needs.

Salary: £170,000 per annum

Position: Consultant Psychiatrist

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Setting: Adult acute inpatient mental health service

Location: Southampton, Hampshire

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Provide consultant psychiatric care for up to 18 adult inpatients.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments and lead regular ward rounds.
  • Develop and deliver tailored, patient-centred treatment plans.
  • Provide clinical leadership across the multidisciplinary team.
  • Supervise and support the Specialty Doctor within the clinical team.
  • Support patient flow through clinical reviews, risk management and discharge planning.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audit and ongoing service development.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • Current GMC registration.
  • Specialist Registration in a psychiatric speciality.
  • Approved Clinician status, or eligibility to obtain Approved Clinician status.
  • Experience in UK acute inpatient psychiatry.
  • Strong multidisciplinary working and patient-centred clinical leadership skills.
