Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced CYPMHS / CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist Tier 4 inpatient adolescent mental health service supporting young people aged 13–18 experiencing acute mental health difficulties, including complex presentations and disordered eating.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide clinical leadership within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, shaping trauma-informed and recovery-focused treatment programmes while making a significant difference to the lives of young people and their families.
Salary: Competitive salary dependent on experience
Position: CYPMHS / CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: Full Time
Setting: Tier 4 General Adolescent Inpatient Unit
Location: Charlwood, Horley, Surrey
Your key responsibilities will be;
- Provide clinical leadership within a specialist adolescent inpatient service.
- Act as Responsible Clinician for detained young people.
- Review referrals and undertake admission assessments.
- Complete comprehensive psychiatric and risk assessments.
- Develop evidence-based treatment plans with the MDT.
- Monitor physical health and eating behaviours of patients.
- Lead CPA reviews and participate in clinical governance activities.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
- GMC registration with licence to practise.
- Specialist experience within CAMHS or CYPMHS services.
- Experience working with acute adolescent mental health presentations.
- Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act framework.
- Excellent multidisciplinary leadership and communication skills.
