Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join an established Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, providing specialist psychiatric care to young people aged 12–18 with eating disorders. You will work within a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, delivering evidence-based and individualised treatment programmes while providing clinical leadership and contributing to ongoing service development.

Salary: Competitive annual salary + £5,000 car allowance + £10,000 signing-on fee
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
Hours: Full-Time
Setting: Tier 4 CYPMHS – Eating Disorders
Location: South East England

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Review referrals and determine suitability for admission to the service.
  • Conduct admission assessments and develop effective individualised management plans.
  • Assess and manage children and young people referred to the service.
  • Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and ensure these are regularly reviewed.
  • Assess and monitor patients’ physical health alongside their mental health needs.
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, reflection and risk management to key workers.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, safeguarding, record keeping and culturally competent practice.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • GMC Specialist Register status in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a licence to practise.
  • Experience working within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
  • Experience working with young people with eating disorders.
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development and clinical governance.
  • An interest in research, teaching and supporting the development of trainees.
