Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist inpatient mental health service supporting young people and adults through some of the most challenging periods of their lives.

Working as part of an experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference to patient outcomes by delivering compassionate, recovery-focused care within a safe and therapeutic environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Consultant looking for a role where they can combine clinical leadership with hands-on patient care while contributing to the continued development of an established service.

Salary: 180,000
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – CAHMS Forensic
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Inpatient CAHMS Service
Location: Cheadle, Greater Manchester

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Providing clinical leadership across the inpatient service.
  • Acting as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act.
  • Leading ward rounds and multidisciplinary discussions.
  • Supporting patients through assessment and treatment planning.
  • Working closely with families and external professionals.
  • Contributing to service development and clinical governance.
  • Supervising and supporting junior medical colleagues.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • Full GMC registration and Specialist Register inclusion.
  • CCST/CCT or equivalent in Psychiatry.
  • Experience within inpatient mental health settings.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A compassionate and collaborative approach to leadership.
