Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in CAMHS to join a well-established independent hospital and play a key role in launching and shaping a brand-new inpatient service for young people aged 13–18.

This offers a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up, influencing the development of the service, supporting a dedicated multidisciplinary team, and creating a positive, therapeutic environment where young people can achieve meaningful recovery outcomes.

Salary: £180,880
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – CAMHS
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Inpatient CAMHS Service
Location: Chelmsford, Essex

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Providing clinical leadership across the new CAMHS inpatient service.
  • Acting as Responsible Clinician for young people in your care.
  • Leading MDT discussions and collaborative care planning.
  • Supporting families throughout the patient’s treatment journey.
  • Helping shape and develop the new service offering.
  • Supervising and supporting junior medical colleagues.
  • Contributing to teaching, audit and service improvement projects.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • Full GMC registration and Specialist Register inclusion.
  • CAMHS CCT or equivalent CESR accreditation.
  • Approved Clinician status.
  • Experience within CAMHS inpatient or community settings.
  • A collaborative and compassionate leadership style.
