Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a CYPMHS Eating Disorder Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist Tier 4 inpatient service for young people aged 12–18 with complex eating disorders. You’ll be part of a supportive, experienced multidisciplinary team delivering highly individualised, evidence-based treatment programmes designed around each young person’s needs.

Salary: £160,000 – £175,000 DOE
Position: Consultant Child & Young People Psychiatrist (Eating Disorders)
Hours: Full-time
Setting: Tier 4 CYP inpatient eating disorder service
Location: Brighton

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Review referrals and assess suitability for admission
  • Conduct admission assessments and develop effective management plans
  • Lead assessment and ongoing treatment of CYP with eating disorders
  • Complete regular risk assessments and monitor physical health
  • Provide leadership, supervision and risk management to MDT
  • Maintain high standards of governance, documentation and safeguarding
  • Participate in CYPMHS consultant on-call rota and cross-cover arrangements

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

  • Full GMC registration with licence and Specialist Register (or within 6 months CCT)
  • Extensive CYPMHS experience, ideally in inpatient ED settings
  • Excellent clinical leadership, communication and teamwork abilities
  • Strong safeguarding awareness and trauma-informed practice
  • Interest in research, service development or specialist therapies
