Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join an established and supportive specialist mental health service, providing high-quality care to adult women with complex mental health needs. You will work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team within a secure setting, with opportunities to contribute to service development, clinical governance and the ongoing improvement of patient care.
Salary: Competitive annual salary + £5,000 car allowance
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Mental Health – Medium / Low Secure
Location: North West England
Your key responsibilities will be;
- Provide high-quality psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment to women with complex mental health needs.
- Lead multidisciplinary care planning and ensure individualised treatment approaches are delivered.
- Manage patients’ physical and mental health needs alongside psychological and social considerations.
- Undertake psychiatric assessments to determine the appropriate level of care.
- Provide oral and written evidence at First-tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers’ hearings.
- Develop positive working relationships with external professionals and stakeholders.
- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and wider service development.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
- Full GMC registration and Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- GMC Specialist Register status in Forensic or General Adult Psychiatry.
- Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.
- Current appraisals and good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Experience working with complex mental health needs within a secure or specialist setting.
