Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a brand-new residential mental health service supporting adults with complex mental health needs. This innovative, nurse-led service focuses on personalised care, using evidence-based therapies to support recovery, improve wellbeing and help individuals move forward with confidence. The role offers the opportunity to shape and develop a pioneering service while working within a compassionate multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

Salary: Up to £160k – FTE (pro rata)
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: Part-time  – 2 days per week
Setting: Residential Mental Health Service
Location: Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire (East Midlands)

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Provide clinical leadership for residents with complex mental health needs
  • Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews and CPA meetings
  • Act as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act
  • Conduct specialist psychological assessments and treatment planning
  • Oversee referral, admission and discharge pathways
  • Support safe, therapeutic and psychologically informed care environments
  • Provide supervision, teaching and clinical guidance to staff

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • CCT in Psychiatry or equivalent recognised qualification
  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise in the UK
  • Experience managing complex mental health presentations
  • Strong leadership within multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Knowledge of NICE guidelines and Mental Health Act legislation
