Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established inpatient mental health service specialising in rehabilitation and acute care for women. The role involves leading clinical care for detained patients under the Mental Health Act within a multidisciplinary team. This service supports women with complex mental health needs, including trauma and personality disorders, in a supportive, trauma-informed environment.
Salary: Up to £165k dependant on experience + £8,400 car allowance
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: 37.5 hours
Setting: Locked rehabilitation and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Location: Guisley
Your key responsibilities will be;
• Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act
• Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds and risk assessments
• Provide psychiatric input to care planning and treatment decisions
• Participate in clinical governance and management meetings
• Supervise and support junior medical and multidisciplinary team members
• Contribute to in-house training and CPD activities
• Maintain professional revalidation and CPD requirements
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
• CCT in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
• MRCPsych or equivalent medical qualification
• Experience in inpatient settings with Mental Health Act patients
• Previous consultant experience with leadership responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of current psychiatry legislation and service delivery
