Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist inpatient service supporting women within a 10-bedded PICU and rehabilitation setting.

Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team and supported by a Specialty Doctor, you’ll play a key role in helping patients with complex mental health needs move towards recovery and greater independence.

Salary: 159,600
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Female PICU and Rehabilitation Service
Location: Royston, Hertfordshire

Your key responsibilities will be;

• Providing clinical leadership across the PICU and rehabilitation service.
• Acting as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act.
• Leading ward rounds, risk reviews and treatment planning.
• Supporting referrals, admissions and pre-admission assessments.
• Working closely with the multidisciplinary team on patient care.
• Contributing to service development and clinical governance.
• Participating in the second on-call Consultant rota.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

• MRC Psych or equivalent qualification.
• CCT and GMC Specialist Register inclusion.
• Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.
• Experience within PICU or rehabilitation settings.
• A collaborative and compassionate leadership style.
