Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a team delivering medicinal cannabis treatments within a structured, remote clinical care model.

The service are a leading provider of medical cannabis services, established in 2020 within the Channel Islands, since expanding into the UK in 2025, they have been offering specialised psychiatric consultations and medicinal cannabis treatments to patients across the UK.

This is a substantive part time role (2 days per week) in a remote service that values clinical autonomy and innovation.

Salary: Dependent on experience
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: Part-time, 2 days per week (1 day per week may also considered)
Setting: Medicinal Cannabis – Remote clinical care model
Location: Fully remote

This is not an agency locum position, you will be fully employed by our client – this is a long term substantive post where continuity is important given the clinical model, so we are looking for psychiatrists who can commit to this.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Conduct remote psychiatric assessments and treatment initiation
  • Assess clinical histories and suitability for prescribing medicinal cannabis
  • Document clinical decisions clearly and accurately
  • Follow clinical frameworks and governance protocols
  • Manage ongoing patient care in a shared care model
  • Day to Day mix of consultations and clinical oversight

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

  • A CD pin for prescribing controlled drugs
  • GMC registration and on specialist register in psychiatry
  • Strong background in psychiatric assessments
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Experience in private or remote care models is desirable

You do not require previous experience in Medicinal Cannabis, although it would be welcomed. The service will support fully with relevant training courses and ongoing support from their Medical Director.
