Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist neurological rehabilitation service supporting adults with complex neuropsychiatric and neurological conditions. The service provides specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation pathways for individuals with acquired brain injuries, progressive neurological conditions and complex behavioural presentations within a therapeutic inpatient environment. The role offers strong clinical leadership opportunities while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team focused on improving independence and quality of life for patients.
Salary: Up to £170,000 per annum
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – Neurological Rehabilitation
Hours: Full-time
Setting: Specialist Neurological Rehabilitation Service (Inpatient)
Location: St Neots, Cambridgeshire
Your key responsibilities will be;
- Provide clinical leadership within a neurological rehabilitation service
- Conduct consultant ward rounds and patient clinical reviews
- Lead assessments for referrals and new admissions
- Chair and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Oversee Mental Health Act administration and legal processes
- Support rehabilitation pathways and community reintegration plans
- Supervise junior doctors and support clinical staff development
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
- Full GMC registration with a recognised medical qualification
- MRCPsych or equivalent postgraduate psychiatric qualification
- Experience managing complex neuropsychiatric presentations
- Strong leadership and multidisciplinary team collaboration skills
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act and relevant legislation
