Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist Older Adult Mental Health inpatient service, providing clinical leadership on an 18-bed dementia ward. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality assessment, diagnosis and treatment while helping to shape and develop services for older adults with complex mental health needs.
Salary: NHS Consultant Salary (2021 Consultant Contract)
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – Old Age Psychiatry
Hours: 6 PAs (Part Time) with opportunity for Full Time
Setting: Older Adult Mental Health – Dementia Inpatient
Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire (East Midlands)
Your key responsibilities will be;
- Provide clinical leadership for the multidisciplinary inpatient team.
- Assess, diagnose and manage older adult mental health patients.
- Lead care planning and comprehensive risk assessments.
- Supervise resident doctors and medical trainees.
- Participate in the Consultant on-call rota.
- Maintain clinical governance, appraisal and revalidation requirements.
- Support undergraduate teaching, audit and service development.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
- GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- CCT in Old Age Psychiatry or within six months.
- Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.
- Excellent leadership and multidisciplinary working skills.
- Experience managing complex older adult mental health patients.
