Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a specialist secure mental health service for adult women with complex needs. This established service offers medium and low secure care, supported by a successful and experienced medical department with a strong multidisciplinary ethos.

Salary: £154,000 – £170,000 DoE + £5K Car Allowance
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – Medium/Low Secure
Hours: Full time
Setting: Medium or low secure ward (depending on preference)
Location: Warrington

Your key responsibilities will be;

• Lead care programmes for women with complex forensic and mental health needs
• Drive high-quality multidisciplinary care and collaborative decision-making
• Undertake psychiatric assessments to determine appropriate secure care pathways
• Build strong relationships with case managers and external stakeholders
• Provide evidence for tribunals and hospital managers’ hearings
• Support governance, audits and quality improvement initiatives
• Participate in second on-call rota with optional paid first on-call shifts

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

• Full GMC registration and MRCPsych qualification
• On (or near) the specialist register in forensic or general adult psychiatry
• Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status
• Up-to-date appraisals and good standing with the Royal College
• Strong communication and leadership skills within secure environments.
