Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a Tier 4 inpatient CAMHS eating disorders service, providing specialist care to young people aged 12–18 within a highly supportive multidisciplinary team.

Salary: Up to £170,000 + £10,000 welcome bonus
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist – CYPMHS (Eating Disorders)
Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week
Setting: Tier 4 Child & Adolescent Inpatient Service
Location: Hertfordshire

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Review referrals and determine appropriateness for inpatient admission
  • Conduct comprehensive admission, psychiatric and physical health assessments
  • Lead risk assessments and oversee effective, evidence-based management plans
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision and reflective practice to MDT
  • Supervise specialty doctors and psychiatric trainees
  • Participate in consultant on-call rota and cross-cover arrangements
  • Uphold safeguarding, governance and high-quality record keeping standards

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • GMC Specialist Register in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Experience within CYPMHS Eating Disorders services
  • Strong leadership and multidisciplinary teamworking skills
  • Commitment to clinical governance and safeguarding standards
  • Interest in research, teaching and service development
