Head of Healthcare – HMP Stoke Heath

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced healthcare leader to join a specialist healthcare service within a secure custodial environment. This is a senior leadership position, providing strategic, operational and clinical leadership across the healthcare provision at HMP Stoke Heath.

Position: Head of Healthcare – Band 8b
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Setting: HMP / Health & Justice
Location: HMP Stoke Heath, Market Drayton, Shropshire

Your key responsibilities will be;

• Lead strategic, operational and clinical delivery across all healthcare services.
• Provide visible leadership across a multidisciplinary healthcare workforce.
• Drive clinical governance, quality improvement, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor KPIs, performance, outcomes and contractual requirements.
• Lead service transformation, redesign and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop strong partnerships with prison leadership, commissioners and healthcare providers.
• Oversee workforce planning, budgets, business continuity and operational resilience.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

• Current professional healthcare registration with significant senior leadership experience.
• Degree-level qualification and Master’s degree or equivalent senior leadership experience.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex healthcare services.
• Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality improvement, risk and NHS regulation.
• Experience within offender health, secure environments or Health & Justice is desirable.
