Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior / Head Consultant Psychiatrist to lead the clinical care within a pioneering medicinal cannabis service.

The service was established in 2020, firstly in the Channel Islands, then expanded with a UK service in 2025 – since expanding  they have been offering specialised psychiatric consultations and medicinal cannabis treatments to patients across the UK.

This fully remote, permanent role provides you the opportunity to impact patients’ lives while having autonomy in your work.

Salary: Dependent on experience
Position: Lead/Head Senior Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: Full time, Monday – Friday (9-5)
Setting: Remote clinical care model – Medicinal Cannabis
Location: Fully remote

Your key responsibilities will be:

The role will be largely clinical carrying out,  day to day patient consultants/assessments to determine suitability of prescribing, however as the Senior/Head Psychiatrist you will also;

  • Lead clinical risk management and patient safety
  • Design and implement clinical pathways
  • Oversee clinical governance and quality standards
  • Handle escalated clinical decisions
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction
  • Manage clinical audits and compliance
  • Support and mentor junior consultants

 

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

  • A CD pin for prescribing controlled drugs
  • Experience as a Lead Consultant in private or remote care
  • GMC registration and on specialist register in psychiatry
  • Strong clinical governance experience
  • Ideally some exposure to medicinal cannabis treatments (not essential)
