Job Description

We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join a unit which specialises in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for rehabilitation.

Salary: Up to £ 38,716 + £5k welcome bonus

Position: RMN – Specialist DBT Rehab

Hours: Full Time/Part Time Flexible

Setting: DBT Rehab

Location: Manchester, SK8

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing and supporting nursing care to the ward and acting as a named nurse for a defined group of patients.
  • Assessing, planning, and delivering nursing care in collaboration with patients and their families, considering patient needs, preferences, and choices.
  • Engaging with service users to assess their needs, evaluate progress, and provide therapeutic support.
  • Promoting and adhering to the DBT model, ensuring that all nursing interventions are aligned with DBT principles.
  • Participating in quality improvement processes and clinical governance activities to ensure that high standards of care are consistently maintained.
  • Providing accessible information about care to patients and their families.
  • Acting as the Nurse in Charge of the ward, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and effective communication within the MDT.
  • Contributing to MDT practice, including treatment planning and collaborative care.
  • Adhering to codes of practice and national guidelines, ensuring that the care provided is in line with the most current standards.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

  • Active Registration with the NMC as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
  • Knowledge of NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to improving patient care and quality standards.
  • The ability to develop and apply flexible and innovative approaches to nursing practice.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), and proficiency in IT.
  • A willingness to undergo intensive DBT training and actively engage with the DBT programme as part of your role..
