Job Title: QIS-Trained NICU Nurse
Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care
Band / Grade: Band 5 /6
Location: Homerton Hospital, London
Salary: £30.00 per hour – Full Gross, Inside IR35
Description:
We are currently seeking experienced QIS-trained NICU Nurses to work within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Homerton Hospital. Due to the high acuity within the unit, we are specifically looking for nurses with strong neonatal experience who are confident caring for incubated babies during every shift.
This locum opportunity is for long day shifts only, with no requirement for night shifts at this time.
Typical shift patterns include:
Long days: As per hospital rota
This role is ideal for nurses who are QIS-trained and confident delivering high-quality, specialist care to critically ill and premature neonates within a high-acuity NICU environment.
Duties include:
Delivering safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to neonates within the NICU
Caring for and monitoring incubated babies throughout every shift
Undertaking comprehensive neonatal assessment, monitoring, and documentation
Administering medications and treatments safely and effectively
Recognising and escalating clinical concerns appropriately
Working collaboratively with the neonatal multidisciplinary team
Maintaining high standards of infection prevention and patient safety
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible, you must have:
Current NMC registration
QIS qualification – essential
Recent and relevant NICU experience
Experience caring for incubated babies
Availability to work long day shifts only
Clearly documented neonatal skills, experience, and relevant training on your CV
Valid QIS Certificate must be provided with your CV
Important:
Due to the high acuity within the NICU, only QIS-trained nurses who meet the above criteria and are able to work with incubated babies during every shift will be considered.
