Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join a specialist independent school supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, trauma experiences and additional SEND. Working as part of an integrated therapeutic team, you will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, improve emotional wellbeing and achieve positive outcomes.

Salary: Up to £52,000 DOE
Position: Occupational Therapist
Hours: Full Time (may consider PT)
Setting: Specialist Independent School (SEMH)
Location: South Woodham Ferrers, Essex

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Deliver individual and group occupational therapy interventions
  • Complete assessments, reports and outcome monitoring
  • Support EHCP targets and therapeutic planning
  • Work collaboratively with education and therapy colleagues
  • Provide classroom-based therapeutic support when required
  • Liaise with families and external professionals
  • Promote positive engagement, regulation and independence

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience supporting children or young people
  • Knowledge of SEMH and SEND needs
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
