Operational Manager

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sterile Services professional to join a leading specialist NHS Trust, providing strategic and operational leadership across its Theatre Sterile Services Unit (TSSU).

Salary: Band 8a
Position: Sterile Services Operational Manager
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Setting: NHS Acute / Specialist Hospital
Location: Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London

Your key responsibilities will be;

  • Lead the Trust-wide provision and management of decontamination services.
  • Provide day-to-day operational management and leadership of the TSSU.
  • Ensure compliance with national decontamination standards, regulations and Trust policies.
  • Lead clinical governance, quality assurance, audit and risk management across services.
  • Provide specialist decontamination advice to senior leaders and clinical teams.
  • Manage staffing, resources, procurement, budgets and service performance effectively.
  • Lead service improvement, transformation and implementation of the Trust’s decontamination strategy.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • Extensive management experience within Sterile Services, theatres or a comparable environment.
  • Relevant professional qualification, such as IDSc, RGN Theatres or ODP.
  • Significant knowledge and experience implementing ISO standards and decontamination requirements.
  • Proven experience leading teams, quality improvement, change management and service development.
  • Strong strategic, communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
