Job Description
Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Senior Clinical/Forensic Psychologist to join a specialist low secure forensic service supporting adult males with complex mental health needs, challenging behaviours and forensic histories.
Working as part of an established multidisciplinary team, you will act as the Ward Psychologist within a Male Low Secure Unit, providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention to a complex patient group. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to service development, research, teaching and clinical leadership while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.
Salary: £57,000 per annum pro rata
Position: Senior Clinical/Forensic Psychologist
Hours: Part Time – 30 Hours Per Week
Setting: Low Secure Forensic Mental Health
Location: Thatcham, Berkshire
Your key responsibilities will be;
- Manage an autonomous caseload of complex service users.
- Deliver psychological assessments, formulations and interventions.
- Provide individual and group therapeutic interventions.
- Support MDT care planning and clinical decision-making.
- Deliver supervision and reflective practice sessions.
- Contribute to audits, research and service development.
- Participate in MDT, CPA and referral meetings.
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Eligibility for Chartered BPS status.
- Experience managing complex and high-risk presentations.
- Knowledge of psychological models and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
