Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and HCPC registered Psychologist to join a specialist women’s low secure and rehabilitation service supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental illness, personality disorders and complex trauma presentations.

Working as part of an established multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering trauma-informed psychological interventions, supporting recovery pathways and contributing to the ongoing development of a highly regarded psychology service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychologist looking to further develop their experience within forensic and secure mental health services while benefiting from excellent CPD opportunities and support from a wider regional psychology network.

Salary: £47,810 per annum pro rata

Setting: Female Low Secure and Rehabilitation Mental Health Services
Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying and managing a designated caseload of service users with complex presentations.
  • Completing specialist psychological assessments and formulations.
  • Delivering evidence-based psychological interventions using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Contributing to MDT reviews, care planning and risk management.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of psychology services across the hospital.
  • Providing supervision to Assistant Psychologists where appropriate.
  • Delivering training and reflective practice sessions to wider staff teams.
  • Contributing to audits, research projects and service evaluation initiatives.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

  • HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • A BPS accredited and HCPC approved Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
  • Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society.
  • Experience working with severe and enduring mental illness and/or personality disorders.
  • Experience working with trauma and trauma-informed models of care.
  • Strong formulation, risk assessment and therapeutic intervention skills.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
