Job Description

Currently we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join a specialist inpatient mental health service supporting adults with acute mental health needs and eating disorders.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care whilst supporting patients throughout their recovery journey.

You will work closely with psychiatrists, therapists and fellow nursing colleagues to develop therapeutic relationships, contribute to care planning and promote positive outcomes for patients in a safe and recovery-focused environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RMN who has completed preceptorship and is looking to further develop their career within an acute inpatient setting with a leading independent provider.

Salary: £36,176 per annum
Position: Registered Mental Health Nurse
Hours: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Acute Mental Health / Eating Disorders
Location: Preston, Lancashire

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality nursing care to patients with acute mental health needs.
  • Acting as Named Nurse for allocated patients.
  • Completing assessments, care planning and risk management documentation.
  • Supporting patients through their recovery journey and therapeutic interventions.
  • Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administering medication safely in accordance with NMC guidelines and local policies.
  • Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive ward culture.
  • Participating in shift coordination and acting as Nurse in Charge when required.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has:

  • Active NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
  • Completed preceptorship programme.
  • Minimum 6 months post-registration experience within Mental Health or Learning Disabilities services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate and recovery-focused approach to care.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and revalidation.
