Currently, we have an excellent opportunity for a Salaried General Practitioner to join a supportive and forward-thinking primary care team based in Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Scotland. This substantive post offers flexible working opportunities, with up to 40 hours available and part-time applications welcomed. Salary: £86,889 – £129,538 per annum, depending on experience

Position: Salaried General Practitioner (GP)

Hours: Up to full-time – 40 hours per week; part-time applications welcome

Setting: Primary Care / General Practice

Location: Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Scotland

Your key responsibilities will be;

• Provide comprehensive general medical services to patients within the local community.
• Assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic conditions.
• Work collaboratively with pharmacists, physiotherapists and advanced nurse practitioners.
• Liaise with community mental health and community nursing teams.
• Participate in clinical learning, professional development and clinical governance activities.
• Contribute to patient care through effective multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Support home visits and explore opportunities to develop specialist clinical interests.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;

• Appropriate qualifications and registration to practise as a General Practitioner in the UK.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamworking abilities.
• A commitment to continuous professional development and high-quality patient care.
• An enthusiastic approach to community-based general practice.
