We have an exciting opportunity for a RMN to work with an NHS Trust in London for their Liaison team . This full-time locum position is based in London, with proposed working hours of Monday to Friday 0900 til 1700.
The role is set to begin ASAP and will last for 1 Months initially offering an hourly rate of £35 Per Hour Please note that this position is inside IR35
Job Summary
The Senior Liaison Psychiatry Nurse will provide senior clinical leadership, operational oversight, and expert mental health assessment within Kingston Liaison Psychiatry Service.
The post holder will act as a highly visible clinical leader, supporting service delivery across Kingston Hospital’s Emergency Department, Acute Medical Units and inpatient wards. They will provide expert advice and consultation regarding complex mental health presentations, facilitate patient flow, support risk management, and ensure timely assessment and treatment of patients presenting with mental health needs.
The post holder will work closely with consultant psychiatrists, acute hospital colleagues, Crisis Services, Home Treatment Teams, Community Mental Health Teams and other stakeholders to ensure safe, effective and efficient patient care.
The role is intended as a senior clinical and operational position to strengthen leadership capacity within Kingston Liaison Psychiatry and support delivery of Core 24 standards and Trust objectives.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
· Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC Registered).
· Degree in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.
· Evidence of continuing professional development.
· Post-registration training relevant to acute mental health, crisis care or liaison psychiatry.
Desirable
· Master’s degree or equivalent level study.
· Leadership or management qualification.
· Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
Essential Experience
· Significant post-registration mental health nursing experience.
· Extensive experience working within Liaison Psychiatry, Crisis Services, Acute Mental Health Services or Urgent Care Services.
· Experience managing complex mental health presentations and clinical risk.
· Experience providing leadership and supervision to staff.
· Experience working with acute hospital services and multidisciplinary teams.
· Experience of service improvement, audit and quality initiatives.
Desirable
· Previous experience at Band 7 level or above within Liaison Psychiatry.
· Experience of operational management responsibilities.
· Experience supporting workforce planning and recruitment.
