Today marks one whole year since we launched The Art of Recruitment, our new website and our brand receiving a spruce up. But this was more than just aesthetics.

Athona was founded back in 2003, so this year marks two decades in the industry. Over the years, we have strived to set ourselves apart from other recruitment agencies. We have always ensured we were part of all NHS-approved frameworks and invested heavily in our staff so that we have a strong team of elite recruiters – with our longest standing employee being with Athona since 2005!

When looking at recruitment agencies, it can be easy to overlook what an agency really stands for. However, we believe that in the same way it takes an artist years to hone-in on their craft, we have mastered our art; The Art of Recruitment.

Reinforcing the Athona brand

We set out to define Athona, our values and strengths, and how we aim to be perceived by everyone we work with. Understanding that the work we do makes a difference; to our candidates, our clients and our employees, was crucial to this exercise.

The Art of Recruitment: Our Values

This is what truly sets us apart from our competitors, and over the past year our renewed sense of focus has driven us forward within the market. This has included once again been recognised in the Recruiter Magazine’s ‘Fast 50’ companies, after last being listed in 2017.

We’ve also enjoyed getting back out to see our clients and candidates across the whole of the UK, which has included trips to Scotland, Wales and Guernsey. Many of our candidates have also been recognised for their long service – with multiple doctors celebrating 10 years with Athona!

As we look to the next 12 months, there are more milestones to be achieved and our focus on improving our service will continue to differentiate Athona. Truly demonstrating The Art of Recruitment.

What’s next?

Of course, we’re always looking to the future. The healthcare industry is constantly evolving and we’re looking at how we can innovate for the future and refine the service we provide to both healthcare professionals and providers.

The way people work today is also changing. We know that locum recruitment is part of the future of flexible working and supports the importance of achieving a healthy work-life balance. We see the service we provide as essential to supporting the critical work of the UK’s healthcare system, both in the NHS and private sector.
